The Lines Company have a new and exciting role for an experienced HR Advisor who can hit the ground running and quickly develop strong working relationships with our people leaders so that we can achieve our people strategy.

This is a true generalist role which will allow you to work across all areas of our business – a business which has offices and depots throughout the middle of the north island.  In this role you will be busy with attraction & retention, remuneration & benefits, capability development, change management, performance management, employment relations, systems and reporting.

It is envisioned that your first 12 months will see you focus on developing a recruitment and retention strategy, coaching our people leaders to have robust performance and behaviour conversations with their teams that result in positive outcomes for the business, and assisting with change management.

Our goal is to be constantly improving our peoples’ capability and providing the right support to ensure they love coming to work every day!

The person we are looking for will:

  • Be passionate about people and how HR can support the business.
  • Be able to work autonomously and provide creative solutions to a variety of issues
  • Provide generalist advice, guidance and coaching to managers
  • Create a strong recruitment and retention strategy to help us build a reputation as an  employer of choice
  • Strengthen our people leadership capability using a variety of tools and frameworks
  • Promote H&S as an important part of every employee’s role with us.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A minimum of 5 year’s generalist HR experience
  • Hands-on operational HR skills with the aptitude and attitude to get involved in rolling out new HR initiatives within the business
  • Excellent listening skills
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude
  • A pragmatic approach that will easily engage a wide variety of people
  • Strong retail/commercial understanding
