Our client has been supporting the rural and building markets throughout Australasia for more than 45 years. The business is privately owned and has a long history of providing exceptional service to its clients. Supplying building underlays, roofing netting and wire fencing products, they pride themselves on high quality products, exceptional customer service and a level of flexibility that other suppliers can only dream of. Their team is under new leadership and has a renewed focus on company growth and success and taking the business to the next level.  

In order to help make this happen they are looking for a National Sales & Marketing Manager with a proven track record in the industry, who will support the Leadership Team in creating strategy & deploying all aspects related to sales & marketing. 

The Role

This is a critical role in the ongoing success of this business. Reporting to the General Manager, the focus of this role is to grow market share through increasing volumes of existing products, adding new lines to complement existing ones and entering new markets internationally along with consistently growing profitability. This is a senior leadership role that is designed to grow, develop and lead the sales team to achieving and exceeding sales targets. As a senior role in the company we see this role driving positive changes and increasing sales and margin growth. 

In this role you will:

  • Create and define sales and marketing strategies to provide growth and market share in our chosen markets 
  • Provide leadership to the National Sales Team
  • Ensure key sales and margin targets are met
  • Provide leadership in S&OP planning processes
  • Build capability in the sales team
  • Build sales and marketing budgets in line with the company‚Äôs wider strategic goals
  • Build brand development for new products and current product lines 
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and vendors to ensure short to medium term supply agreements

Your Profile

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Ideally have a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and a post graduate or professional training in sales, marketing, supply chain or people management
  • 5+ years of relevant sales, marketing, S&OP, supply chain and/or people management ideally in the dairy, rural and/or roofing sectors
  • Have experience in developing and executing sales and marketing strategy
  • Have proven experience with setting sales targets and budgets and leading a team to achieve these
  • Have experience with Search Engine Optimization and Search Marketing Optimization
  • Have a background in digital audience analysis, market research, and web analytics
  • Experienced with S&OP planning processes
  • Be a strong communicator with excellent organisational and leadership skills and business acumen
